FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IS SET TO CHANGE THE WORLD BY COMPETING IN THE HULT PRIZE 2021 GLOBAL CHALLENGE

‘ The Hult Prize is how the world has to work in the 21st century’ – President Bill Clinton
For the third time in a row, the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) will be hosting the largest global students’ competition – Hult Prize.
The Hult Prize Foundation is a global learning platform focused on impact and youth empowerment.
It is aimed at training students on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, soft skills, human centered design and the future of business.
Every year, thousands of college university students from 121+ countries participate in a series of events aimed at transforming students into agents of change and impact.

The On-Campus Event is a program where local university competition winners automatically advance to compete in one of the 25+ regional finals happening around the world.
The main goal is to reach the Accelerator in London where 6 teams will finally be selected to proceed to New York and pitch their amazing ideas before professional judges, and stand a chance to win a whooping sum of $1,000, 000.
Application is open to all undergraduate students, MSc, and PhD students of FUTO.
Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), will be one of the schools competing for this years’ HP21 challenge themed – FOOD FOR GOOD – Transforming food into a vehicle for change ’
The food sector has been affected greatly due to the corona virus outbreak, and this has led to a great rise in food insecurity.
We strongly believe in the smart, innovative and entrepreneurial students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), and we can only wish them the best as they take this bold step.
In 2019, four FUTO students namely: Gift Muoneke, Favor Chidiebere, Prince Ogbonna and Victory Nokaa, founded GREENERA TECHNOLOGIES (focused on combating climate change by providing clean and affordable energy through solar technology), after emerging as the On-Campus winners and Second Place winners in the Regionals Finals.
The Hult Prize experience helped – a great deal, in birthing their wonderful idea to life.
Tochukwu Chukwure, Current HULT PRIZE Campus Director of FUTO, widely quoted:
‘I encourage you all to participate in this year’s event because it promises to be bigger and better’
