“We Promise to Score More Goals” – Super Eagles Players

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are aiming to score many goals against Seychelles in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at Victoria this weekend.
The race for a spot in the 2019 tournament began rather poor for Nigeria, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to South Africa in Uyo last year.
They look to revive their hopes of making it to Cameroon with a win over Seychelles in the matchday two of the qualifiers.
And bearing in mind that the team still have away games against Libya and South Africa to play, star forward Henry Onyekuru says it is important that Nigeria score a lot of goals this weekend to boost their standing in the group.
“The game here is the most important, not just for me, but also the team. We are looking forward to playing a good game and to also make the country proud with a win,” the 21-year-old Galatasaray forward told the media.
“We need to score a lot of goals, we never can tell how that will play out at the end when we look ahead to the next game next month.
“Victory here in Seychelles is important,” he stated.
Nigeria missed out in the last two editions of AFCON, and are determined to break the jinx this time.
However, coach Gernot Rohr’s men are currently third in the Group E of the qualifiers behind South Africa and Libya.
The game against Seychelles will take place at the Linite Stadium in Victoria and kick off by 1.30pm (Nigeria time) on Saturday.
