#NEXTLEVEL: Buhari sworn in for a second tenure
President Muhammadu Buhari was on Wednesday inaugurated for a second term in office as Nigeria’s President.
He was sworn-in alongside his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, by the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, who administered oath of office to them for a second tenure.
However, the event which took place at the Eagle Square, Abuja, was without the usual inaugural speech that always accompanies inauguration of a President or public officials into office.
Ripples Nigeria learnt that the inaugural speech was initially included in the event but was later removed. It was not clear as at time this story was filed the reason the inaugural speech was removed.
Meanwhile, following the shift of Nigeria Democracy Day from May 29 to June 12, the Nigerian Government had announced that this Wednesday inauguration will be without fanfare.
