Man City coach Guardiola names 3 clubs to win UCL this term
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has named three clubs to win this season UEFA Champions League this season over his own side because of their “history and tradition’ in the competition.
The 47-year-old Spaniard has won Europe’s top prize on two occasions during his time with Barcelona but Premier League winning coach is not convinced his Cityzen is ‘ready’ to lift the trophy come
the end of the 2018-19 season.
And Guardiola side where knocked out by league rival and finalist Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last term but former Bayern Munich boss thinks European giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus should be considered the favorites over Manchester City because of their impressive history in the tournament.
“If we are favourites
it means we are good, really good.
“But the best the club has done is a semi-final and I don’t know if we are ready, to be honest. When you believe you can win, then you have to do it.
“The favourites
are the clubs with a bigger history and tradition than us. Metro quoted him as saying.
“Real Madrid and Barcelona and also Juventus have been to the final twice recently and are getting closer every time.”
Real Madrid and Barcelona have won Champions League for the last five years while Juventus have been in final twice in the same period.
