FCTA commends churches over adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has commended the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other other church leaders across territory for ensuring adherence to the laid down COVID-19 guidelines for religious organization.
Chairman, FCT ministerial task team on the enforcement of COVID-19 restrictions, Mr. lkharo Attah gave the commendation when led the team on inspection of some churches to monitor the level of compliance.
At the First Baptist church, Gimbaya street, Abuja where the team met the Northern Central Chairman of CAN, Reverend Isreal Akanji, the Chairman commended the church for its strict adherence to the laid down guidelines.
He reported that on entering the church through the gate, some personnel checked their temperature and gave them hand sanitizers to apply. He also said that the level of compliance displayed by the church leader would be what the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammed Bello and the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 headed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha want to see.
Responding, Reverend Akanji said that church had given its word to the government to abide by the guidelines and commended the FCT Minister and the Task force team for monitoring to ensure compliance.
Also, the team visited the Holy trinity Catholic Church Maitama, Abuja where it met Bishop Anselem Umoren.
The church was also commended for its adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines for religious organization.
The team then urged religious organizations and worship centers to adhere to the laid down COVID-19 guidelines in order to curb the spread of the virus.
