The Thing About The 17th Century by Etoh Precious
From the moment I began to know the differences between letters and concluded that I hated Algebra, the pleasure of history appreciation has been my greatest treasure and today, it’ll be particular in the 17th century.
It lasted from Jan 1, 1601 to Dec 31, 1700 (Early Modern Period). This century is found most interesting as it was the time of the revolution of language, science and technology. Events like The Night Watch, Thirty Years War, Claiming Louisiana, The Rise of James I of England and a whole lot more (which will probably bore us to death😂) were what made the century wondrous and put in the books of history, however, in the midst of all of this, living in the 17th century from proof must have been one heck of a ride.
Bananas, pineapples, chocolate and coffee are most of the favorite things for people including me, and so, it’s even more interesting to realize that these were all discovered during this century in Europe by the farmers who were considered as the middle class if not poor, and also at this time, for the first time, the streets of London were lit up with lamps. New furniture, book cases and the most amazing and amusing thing was also introduced, the usage of Forks. This was as a result of the creative minds of blacksmiths at the time.
Major events, invention and discoveries in the 17th century did come to limelight, however, though not exactly highlighted, living at the time of the 17th century in Europe which rapidly spread to other parts of the world is worthy of an epistle and so, it doesn’t end here.
