Better days are coming for Nigerian youths if the prayers of Senator Lawal Gumau on reducing the unemployment crisis ravaging the youth population in Nigeria through making the N-Power permanent are approved by the Federal Government.
The Senator representing Bauchi south senatorial districts Lawal Yahaya Gumau has moved the motion for Npower Permanency Bill, he also proposed for the adoption and creation of Agency for National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).
As the chairman of the Senate Committee on Social Investments and Poverty Alleviation, he suggested that the absorption of all Npower beneficiaries, in all categories into the civil service will help curb the rising rate of unemployment crisis in the country.

The Senator, Lawal Yahaya Gumau has urged all Nigerian Youths to be productive and engaged and shun social vices.
In his words; “To tide in the problems of national insecurity, the country must empower her youths. This must come from the Federal Government; the country must rise up to her responsibility and put an end to youth restiveness-the senator added”
He went further to say “Any nation that fails to explore and empower her youths, is setting on a time bomb. The federal government must show sincere courage and will, to massively invest in her youths. Anything short of this, will spell doom for the nation”
The motion was seconded and supported by more than half of the 9th senate.
Meanwhile, N-Power since inception has addressed the challenges of youth unemployment by providing a structure for large-scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development while linking its core and outcomes to fixing inadequate public services and stimulating the larger economy.
