The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), in collaboration with Cara Development Foundation and African Youth Development Foundation, has held a townhall meeting today, 6th March 2018 in Ngor-okpala to mark this year’s International Women Day.
The townhall outreach was attended by over 120 rural women farmers in the Niger Delta. In attendance, were the Aladinmma Multi-purpose Cooperative society and women farmers from Eziorsu Palm Oil Farmers Association in Oguta and Mezie Umukabia Ogodo Multi-purpose Cooperative in Ngor-Okpala. The outreach also had the media, government representatives and Agricultural service providers in attendance to engage the women.
Speaking was the representative of the Imo state Government, Hon. Remy Chukwunyere, thanked the PIND organisation for their continued partnership with Imo state and promised that the Government of the state will help to scale up the women in Agriculture to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue.
Also speaking, the Executive Director of African Youth Development Foundation and one of the Key Partners of PIND, Mrs. Linda Chukwunyere, thanked the organisation unbehalf of the women for their usual support towards the women in agriculture and promised they(women) will help to revive the agricultural sector in the state.
