Manchester City look to be unbeatable, says Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, with Pep Guardiola’s side capable of emulating Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ from 2003-04.
The Premier League title was recaptured by the Blues last season in record-breaking style , as they hit a century of points and over 100 goals.
It could be that the current campaign sees them go even better, with a derby victory over United in their most recent outing seeing City restore a two-point lead at the summit .
They are yet to suffer a defeat after 12 games, dropping just four points, and Scholes believes that they could become the second side in the Premier League era to negotiate an entire season unbeaten.
A man with strong ties to City’s fiercest rivals told Premier League productions : “We’ve talked about the Arsenal team that went right through the season without losing a game and the more you look at the City team, I don’t see where they are going to get beat.
“I watched the game against Wolves and thought it could be a tricky season for them, but ever since then – I know it’s not too many games – I just don’t see who is going to get near them. I don’t see a team who will beat them.
“I think Liverpool will probably be the closest, but I just think they [City] are that good, they are in control.
