Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has made public, the reason why he and some other All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, who are aggrieved over the conduct of the party primaries in their states, met with Buhari on Thursday.
About nine APC governors, who are having issues with the primaries in their states, met Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja behind closed doors.
Disclosing the reason for the meeting, Okorocha, who is the chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, said the APC must do the right thing and allow everybody to participate in its ongoing nationwide primaries.
He told State House correspondents after the closed door meeting with Buhari, “We came to review the various crises characterising our primaries, with a view to finding solution.
“So, we are looking for a way out in this regard. We are going to find solution; our party believes in justice, equity and fairness. We are requesting that let the right thing be done and let everyone contest the elections.”
Other governors that attended the meeting aside Okorocha are Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Sani Bello (Niger), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), and Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa).
The meeting came after Akeredolu and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State had earlier Wednesday met the President on the same matter.
