Councillors of Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA under the disntiguished Leadership of Rt. Hon Michael Anyanwu on Thursday, 18th October, 2018 paid a scheduled visit to the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon (Mrs) Chioma Tycoon Onwumere, in the spirit of establishing and sustaining a healthy and cordial working relationship which is necessary in delivering dividends of good governance and democracy to the people at the grassroots.
In his opening remarks, the Leader of the Council emphasised on the need for the maintenance and sustenance of the already existing cordial and harmonious relationship between the legislative and executive arms at the Local Government Council. He maintained that by so doing, the government of Ezinihitte Mbaise can achieve more in the development of the area and enhanced general wellbeing of the people.
While thanking the Executive Chairman for the prominent role she played to assist them during their electioneering campaign, the number three citizen of the Local Government Area appealed to the Chairman to swiftly intervene in refurbishing the legislative complex at the Local Government Council and improve its condition to be conducive for legislative business.
Responding, Hon Chioma Tycoon expressed her elation on the visit noting that it was timely and strategic especially in enhancing executive-leguslative relations.
She urged the councillors to live up to expectation in discharging their legislative duties and conduct themselves in ways and manners that they continue to enjoy the mandate and goodwill of the people.
Encouraging them to identify and forward for approvals projects in their various wards that need government intervention, the Chairman maintained that the Rescue Mission Government led by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the Executive Governor of Imo State, is committed to rural development and wellbeing of rural dwellers.
She promised to look into and resolve those challenges that may undermine effective legislative business in the council.
