In its fight against corruption and other criminal acts in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has reeled out what Nigerians should do when their Facebook account is hacked.
Bossgist reports that the anti-graft agency in a statement on its Facebook page, told Nigerians certain steps to take before they could report a hacked Facebook account.
According to the statement, before contacting the EFCC to report about your hacked Facebook account, the following steps must be followed.
The steps include:
1. Try changing your password.
2. If you are unable to do that, inform your family and friends about the compromise on your account.
3. Report the hacked account to Facebook (the EFCC cannot take down your Facebook account) by: asking your contacts to report the hacked profile or create a new profile and report the old account.
Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the Commission had vowed that there would not be any hidden place for corrupt public officials and youth who indulge in internet fraud in the country.
