The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the just concluded 2019 presidential Elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubukar has condemned the disdainful and insane attack meted on Female Judge today by the DSS. The attack took place at a Court hearing of Sowore’s case as DSS re-arrested the Sahara Reporters boss, Omoyele Sowore after being released yesterday.
He made this statement on his twitter handle as he joins other Nigerians to condemn this brazen attack on the Judge, He wrote “Never in the history of Nigerian democracy has a judge been treated in such a disdainful and brazen attack on not just her person and office, but on the entire judiciary. This is unacceptable. It is a rape on the sanctity of the court”. He went further to say that “Nigeria is not a dictatorship. We are a democracy, no matter how inconvenient this fact is to the powers that have forced themselves on us”.
He calls for the respect of court orders made by judges not just by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu by law enforcement agencies in Nigeria. He urged relevant authorities to bring to book those that meted such an attack on the judge and desecrated her court.
Today, I am in extreme anguish of spirit having watched the unfortunate drama that played itself out at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, in which agents of the state caused a commotion in court in order to frustrate a judgment of a court of competent authority.
