Gov. Uzodinma adopts a nine-year-old singer, awards him scholarship.

On Sunday, 21st of June,2020, luck smiled on Mbaise- born nine-year-old Master Opara Joseph Oluomachi as Governor Hope Uzodinma announced that he had adopted the singing sensation as his child and undertook to personally sponsor him from Primary school to Catholic priest hood.

Master Joseph was a roadside coconut hawker before this good luck befell him.
Before Governor Hope Uzodinma adopted the nine-year-old Opara, he made waves on the internet at the weekend with a video of his Catholic hymn songs which marked him out as a specially talented kid singer.
This however attracted instant applause and commendations from the public.
Announcing the good news to the Opara family’s home in Nekede Mechanic Village Owerri on Sunday, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba,said that the governor had sent him to inform the family that the had adopted their son and would personally take over the full responsibility for training him to become a Reverend Father as that is the child’s ambition.
